The typical “Big Box store” is a masonry building, conventional roof structure and single ply roof with package units on the roof for heating, cooling and ventilation. The McAllister Family’s ideas and innovation brought us on board to design and build this 75,000 square foot facility at 70% of the conventional cost. Jack McAllister engaged a nationally renowned hydronic heating system designer and the 50,000 square foot sales floor is heated during the season at a fraction of the cost of forced air heating and cooling systems and the store is cooled in season with large on grade in the rear evaporative cooling systems. The structure is highly insulated and sealed from draft intrusion on all four sides. The 25,000 square foot warehouse is thermally isolated from the sales area. The mode of delivery was Design/Build Open Book. The envelope is a pre-engineered metal building.
