When an owner has a contractor they trust, the contractor becomes the first stop to discuss ideas, concepts and costs. The contractor can either design the project themselves - or hire a design team. Being an easy on-ramp, and less formal a pathway forward than hiring design professionals to assemble a drawing package and go out to bid, the Design/Build approach is typically less expensive; it is easier to modify and refine design, and the owner retains more control over design and costs. Working with a contractor you are comfortable with, the whole experience is more enjoyable.
